An increasing number of scientific studies on homeopathy are being conducted and published in peer-reviewed journals. In recent years, clinical research is providing evidence of the efficacy of homeopathic medicines, and basic laboratory research is confirming the biological activity of highly diluted substances and helping the scientific community better understand their mechanism of homeopathic action.

Homeopathic Remedies are based on an integrated approach to health and well being that addresses specific illness by stimulating the body's own ability to heal.
Homeopathy is based on a medical system established in Europe and has been in use in the United states since the late 19th century.
Homeopathy is also based on the principal of "like treats like" or the "Law of Similars", which states that if an herb, extract, or other natural substance is consumed in a large quantity and a specific set of symptoms occur, then that same ingredient in micro-doses will stimulate the body to fight against those exact symptoms, thereby healing the body.
The premise of homeopathic medicine is similar to that of getting a vaccination; whereby a minute amount of medicine or vaccine is introduced to the body, thereby stimulating a healing response from the body. Homeopathic remedies are used to heal the symptoms of an affliction; in contrast a vaccination is used to cure or mitigate a disease.
For an example of homeopathic practice; red onions (Allium cepa) can make your eyes water, give you a runny nose nose, sneezing and even an itchy throat after cutting them. Therefore, red onion(Allium cepa) is often used as a homeopathic remedy in very dilute homeopathic potency to combat these same symptoms stemming from mild allergies, coughing runny nose, or even the common cold.
Homeopathic medicines are recognized with the statement by its potency, demonstrated after the ingredient; for example, Thuja Occidentalis 6X with the designation H.P.U.S.
H.P.U.S. means the ingredient is monographed in the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States and its possible dilutions are outline there. Following homeopathic practice, by using the proper sucussion (vigorous shaking) methods outlined by potencies designated by a letter and number (for example 1X, 2X, 6X, 12C, or 200CK etc).
The letter refers to the proportions used in each dilution in the series. (The Roman numeral X mean “10”, and the Roman number C means “100”), in some cases, no molecular traces of the original raw ingredients may be left in the final sucussed product.
